Your hat came off when you entered someone's house. It was just a sign of respect. You would find them most the time near the door on either a hat rack or on the back of a chair.

On leaving, you shook the homeowners hand, Thanked Him or Her for "having ya over" and the hat went back on your head when you cross the door's threshold on the way out....

Respect, Courtesy, Gratitude.....

Those were some of the traits that meant somethng when you were "Raised Country".

As of June of 2023, my wife and I have decided to begin a new journey along our paths in life. We have decided to choose the road less taken, and have packed what we can into the back of our van and have left Texas, traveling deep into Mexico and are now are residing in the Pueblo known as La Floresta, Ajijic, in the state of Jalisco Mexico. The cultures, history and the people of Mexico are what brought us here. We are hoping to travel around Mexico learning and sharing the beauty of this country.
