We use to take our Grandchildren on what we called Safari's. Out along the back roads, stopping along the way when any of us saw something that looked interesting. The key was to let them pick, what you thought was interesting sometimes was not what they thought was interesting. One day a week, hopefully the same day which allowed for them to expect and know that you were putting the world aside and giving that time just for them.
Explore, share, let them ask questions. If you don't know the answer, jot it down so you can find out AFTER the safari giving them a chance to learn to research and find the answers with them online or in the library. Take a small something found home to remember the trip by. Those are the ways and things that can help keep a family strong and together..
As of June of 2023, my wife and I have decided to begin a new journey along our paths in life. We have decided to choose the road less taken, and have packed what we can into the back of our van and have left Texas, traveling deep into Mexico and are now are residing in the Pueblo known as La Floresta, Ajijic, in the state of Jalisco Mexico. The cultures, history and the people of Mexico are what brought us here. We are hoping to travel around Mexico learning and sharing the beauty of this country.
