Artist's Description

In the Old Southern Baptist Churches of the Bible Belt.... This song was what many joined in with during the starting of the old Summer Tent Revivals.

As you stepped out of your car, you could hear it being sung and you joined in as you walked among you friends shaking hands, greeting each other and finding a place to stand while waiting for all to get there.

The soft clapping of the hands, humming of the verses and sharing of love and devotion was what brought many together, in many a tent across the south...

You don't see them very often now. That's to bad...

It was also the very first song to God I learned.

Guess that's why I hum it even to this day...

Let it shine, Let it shine...... Let it shine.....

About John Glass

John Glass

As of June of 2023, my wife and I have decided to begin a new journey along our paths in life. We have decided to choose the road less taken, and have packed what we can into the back of our van and have left Texas, traveling deep into Mexico and are now are residing in the Pueblo known as La Floresta, Ajijic, in the state of Jalisco Mexico. The cultures, history and the people of Mexico are what brought us here. We are hoping to travel around Mexico learning and sharing the beauty of this country. We hope you can travel with us via my photography, Comments are welcomed.
