About these cake tins, the older one in the back was my mother's 'button box'. The first thing I actually remember of my childhood. I can remember runnng to get it for Mom and helping to find a matching button needed for the moment. It was the one thing I asked for when she passed.
The newer brighter identical box I found in the back corner of a thrift shop 2 weeks after she passed. It seemed a message from her, 'Hold onto the Past but Prepare for the Future'.
