Artist's Description

For over 20 years they have applied heat, torque, and hammer to create artwork out of metal. From Fan Bobs, Jewelry, Ranch Goods and Furniture their talents seem endless. Erin and Tiger Flores own Earthen Metals. Housed in an old Warehouse across from the ruins of the Elgin Cotton Warehouses that were used in the 50's and 60's as a holding station before being shipped out to the Cotton Mills to the East.

I had gone by to show my wife where I and my brothers and friends had played hide and seek among the large bales of cotton that stood in long lines after being grown in the fields of Central Texas. When I passed by I noticed the large sign that hung over the door of their shop and realized I had to stop and find out more about this shop that held one of the original crafts and trades of Early Texas...

Location: 202 E. 1st Street, 2 Blocks east of Downtown Elgin Texas just across the tracks.

About John Glass

John Glass

As of June of 2023, my wife and I have decided to begin a new journey along our paths in life. We have decided to choose the road less taken, and have packed what we can into the back of our van and have left Texas, traveling deep into Mexico and are now are residing in the Pueblo known as La Floresta, Ajijic, in the state of Jalisco Mexico. The cultures, history and the people of Mexico are what brought us here. We are hoping to travel around Mexico learning and sharing the beauty of this country. We hope you can travel with us via my photography, Comments are welcomed.
